Who are we?
Our Mission
The Northwest Indian Head Start Coalition (NWIHSC) was established with the primary objective of providing cost-effective training and resources tailored to meet the unique needs of the Northwest Tribes. Our overarching goal is to foster a supportive environment where program staff can convene, collaborate, and collectively enhance their expertise, thereby enriching the quality of care and education for our children.
Through active engagement with Grantees and Head Start Programs, the Coalition continuously expands its scope of training initiatives, ensuring that staff members remain equipped with the latest knowledge and best practices. This commitment directly translates into improved outcomes for children throughout Indian Country, empowering them to thrive in all aspects of their development.
At the heart of our approach lies a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage and traditions. It is within this framework that our children are provided not only with academic instruction but also with invaluable lessons rooted in respect, resilience, and community values. By nurturing their cultural identity alongside their academic growth, we lay the groundwork for a future generation of confident, compassionate leaders poised to contribute positively to society.
